The National Construction Authority (NCA) oversees site safety and quality standards. By law, the client/developer must register the project with the NCA within 30 days of awarding the contract.
Prerequisites: Requires the approved county plans, NEMA license, BQ summary, signed contract, and proof that the contractor and consultants hold valid practicing licenses from their respective bodies (NCA, BORAQS, EBK).
Issuance: Following payment of the construction levy (0.5% for projects over KES 5 million) and an initial site evaluation, the NCA issues a Compliance Certificate authorizing works to begin
